One of the best parts about camping is being able to see animals in their natural habitat.  National and state parks have been setup to help preserve nature and animals that are threatened by modern civilization.  Camping is now the only way to see many species of wildlife and taking time to watch the animals can be a fun part of your camping trip.

Do Some Research First

Before you leave for your camping trip you'll want to do some research.  Find out what type of animals are going to be in the area that you're camping.  Make sure you know what animals may present a danger to you or your family.  Also find out if carrying a firearm is allowed where you will be camping.  If so, be sure to bring one.  If any animal appears to be threatening you or your family a shot in the air will typically scare them away.  Certain seasons also present unique opportunities to observe animals such as during migrations.

Buying camp stoves is not like buying a car or a house where you need to really exhaust all possible options before you settle for a particular house or car.  Still, this does not mean that you can just go to the store and buy the first camp stove that you see on the shelves. This just simply means that you do not need to spend a week or a month mulling over which camp stove is better than the other. To help you buy the right camp stove as fast as possible, here are some tips for you.

#1: Consider The Size And The Weight

Size and weight are two of the biggest considerations that you need to take before you buy a camp stove. Remember that when you go camping, you need to travel light especially when you travel on foot. Even the slightest weight on your back could feel like a ton when you are going uphill. If you do not want to end up spraining your back under the weight of your backpack, you better make sure that you pack light. Ideally, your backpack should not weight more than 10 percent of you body weight. This means that you have to bring only the most essential and the lightest things possible. To make your life easier on the hiking trail, buy a camp stove that weight around 15 ounces. This weight should include the fuel already. You can easily find light weight coleman camp stoves in your favorite malls and outdoors shops.

Camping can be a relaxing enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Camping brings the family together in so many ways. Some people love to camp completely naturally: no cell phones, televisions, video games, toilets, showers, mattresses, or electricity. Other people, however, do not like to leave all of their amenities at home. If you are one of those people who cannot leave all of the modern amenities at home but you still want to go camping, you should try RV camping.

What Is RV Camping?

RV camping is camping in your recreational vehicle. Recreational vehicles range from the small, with just one sleeping area, a small kitchen, and a toilet, to the million dollar RV bus. When you go RV camping instead of traditional camping, you will most likely have almost every amenity that you have at home with you on the road. There are RVs with full bathrooms, including tubs, and others with smaller showers. Many RVs have seating areas, and some have large living room areas. Every RV will have some sort of kitchen area, usually with a small stove, refrigerator, sink, and counter space. If you are able to have a large RV bus, you may be able to even have a very small dishwasher.

Sharing an RV can be an economical way to travel, and an interesting and fun way to share an experience.  There are some things you should think about before you sign on for a trip in one.

You need to know right from the start that you'd better all be able to get along in tight quarters.  Just how tight those quarters are depends on the size of the RV.  Before you rent or buy an RV, you should understand what you get with the different sizes.

The very largest are Class A motor homes, and you'll most often find these large motor homes in the U.S.  They are 30-40 feet long (9-12 meters).  These have automatic "slide outs" that make your coach bigger when you're parked.  They have a separate bedroom.  There will generally be toilet and shower facilities, a kitchen and an eating area.  These will tell you they can sleep 6 – 8 people.

RV travel in Europe?  You may think of vacationing with an RV as an American experience, but Europeans have been caravanning for years too, as have Australians and New Zealanders.  And while the term RV is catching on outside of the U.S., you will read most often about caravans or campervans.

There are many companies that rent RVs or campervans in Europe.  In general they will be smaller than the motorhomes you see rolling down American highways.  OK… so you can't have a bedroom, a living room, a dining room and kitchen, but you can take efficient accommodations with you.

If you like this kind of travel, RV travel in Europe is something you should check into.  Seeing Europe by caravan will give you a whole different experience than driving or taking the train and staying in hotels.  You probably will have more chances to make friends with vacationing Europeans.

Sure, you say, you can camp in the mountains.  But what about the cities?  Yes, there are loads of campgrounds out in the countryside…. but you may be surprised to find that you can find places in the cities too.

It is important that you think and plan wisely and do not just bring any camping food with you on your next trip. Especially if you are going camping for an extended period of time, you are going to need to make sure that you have not only the right food but enough food to last you the duration of your trip.

There are certain foods that are proper to take on a camping trip with you and others that are not. Perishable foods should not be taken on a camping trip, unless you know that you are going to be eating them within the first couple of days, or otherwise before they go bad.

You also generally want to stick to camping food that is easy to prepare. Camping is not the time or place to start whipping out gourmet meals, so pay close attention to the following information on camping food.  You are definitely going to want to be aware of.

The best way to find out if you'd like traveling in a motor home is to rent an RV for a trip.  You can see if you like driving a vehicle that big… what ever size it is.  See if you can live with dumping the gray and black water.  Is it worth it to level that thing, get the water and power hooked up?

You can rent an RV easily in the U.S.  You can also rent "caravans" in Australia and Europe… but mainly, I'll talk about the U. S. market here.  There are many companies that rent RVs.  Some are national and some are local to the area you might be visiting.  Some companies also are brokers who will help private RV owners rent out their RVs when they are not in use.

There are some things to think about if you rent an RV… and the first is that you might have to equip it.

There will be different contracts and rules in each situation.  Privately owned RVs may come with linens and dishes.  RVs rented from fleets of rentals will probably come "bare".  That means you will get the vehicle, but it will not have dishes, flat ware, cooking utensils or pots and pans.  There won't be bedding or towels.  No cleaning supplies for dishes… no toilet paper.

Before you head out on your next camping trip, it will be a good idea for you to make a proper camping food list. You need to be aware that there are certain foods you should bring along on a camping trip and others that you shouldn’t. More importantly than anything, you need to realize that you can do much better than canned food, and your camping food does not have to be bland and boring.

Camping Food Ideas

There are quite a few different options you have when it comes to a camping food idea. It is certainly no secret that many people believe food prepared over an open fire in the great outdoors is the best way to do it, but you just need to make sure that you are choosing the right foods to bring along on your camping trip with you.

When you're traveling with an RV, you need to know where you can stop for the night.  How do you find a place to park and set up?

Don't worry… In the U.S. there are lots of campgrounds, public parks, and private RV parks that you can choose from… but what do you look for?  And the same goes for Europe, but we'll concentrate on the U.S. here. What will make your experience traveling with an RV the most pleasant?

One thing that we'll say right at the beginning is don't wait until late in the day to find a place to park.  Just like when we find hotel rooms while traveling, we think it's best to have a place for the night by no later than 5:00 PM.  There are lots of places to park that RV, but once you get there, you have to set it up, and you really want to do that in daylight if you can.
