Saving For a Budget Camping Holiday in France

A camping holiday in France is one of the most exciting things you can do during the summer holidays.  They are a great way to wind up the summer with a few friends, and, if you pick the right time of year you can enjoy all of the fun and atmosphere of France, whilst escaping the crowds of tourists who flock to the country during the peak times.  The great thing about going at the end of the season is that while the weather is still good, the country is quieter, and you can enjoy your trip at a fraction of the peak season price.

Preparing for a Camping Holiday in France

Before you venture into a camping holiday in France, you should check to see if your budget allows you to spare money for the trip. It is always prudent to know your budget before you plan a ‘want’ as opposed to a ‘need’. It is a good idea to honestly know what you can or cannot afford. The best way to find out how much money you can afford to spend during your camping holiday in France is to check you monthly income and compare this with your monthly expenses and see if you have some spare funds after all bills have been paid.

When you are working out how much you can afford, remember to be conservative – this camping holiday in France is not the only thing that you will need to spend money on.  Do not use more than 30 percent of your savings for the holiday.  Even if that means delaying your trip a while to save up some more money – you will be glad you still have some savings in reserve should any emergencies occur.

Once you have your budget worked out, you can build a camping plan that will fit it.  Work out the cheapest way to get to France from where you live – flying may be the only option for some people, but if you live within Europe check out train prices to see if they are cheaper.  The train is a lot slower, but you can enjoy the scenery along the way, and save a lot of money in the process.  The money you save on transportation can go towards better equipment, or let you enjoy more activities while you are away.
