Finding the Perfect Camping Air Mattress

Camping usually inspires thoughts of rain, small, flimsy tents, and sleeping bags. While you can rough it if you wish, there are ways to enjoy the great outdoors and still get a good nights sleep.  One of the first things you will need, to do it that way, is a good camping air mattress .

How Much Do they Cost?

If you intend to camp regularly, then a good camping air mattress will make your experiences a lot more pleasant, and will be well worth the investment.  If you only plan to take a short camping trip every once in a while, then a cheaper one may be sufficient, it depends on what comfort level you desire and how much money you have to spend.

In this case you could buy a roll up air mat instead of an actual mattress.  This is really halfway between an air mattress and sleeping on the floor.  They aren’t as popular as the air mattress though, and they don’t fold down as compactly either.

Whatever you decide, you should be able to find an affordable camping air mattress of acceptable quality if you look in camping shops in your area.  Remember to check the mattress before you leave, and to take a repair kit with you in case it gets damaged while you are on your trip.

What Kind of Camping Air Mattress To Get

The majority of camping air mattresses are made from a PVC type material, and feature a flock top that gives the mattress a more comfortable feel and makes it easier to sleep on.

Some of the better models come with a foot pump for inflating them, but the cheaper air mattresses will rely on the owner supplying their own pump… or inflating it themselves.

The self inflating air mattress is probably the most popular choice with those who camp regularly – it is a lot more convenient, and means that there is one less thing to worry about, leaving you to concentrate on unpacking your supplies and making sure the tent is properly secured.

Camping is a wonderful way to get away from the stresses of daily life and re-attune yourself with mother nature.  To be able to get a good nights sleep adds to the pleasure of the camping experience, and will hopefully encourage you to go camping more frequently.

I liked this one, because for me camping involves having a air mattress as I have a hard time sleeping on the ground. Choosing an air mattress was never important to me because I thought they were the same except for the sizes and how they are blown up.

I have never considered a self inflating for camping and think that if you really need one of these kinds that you really may not want to go camping.
