Enjoy The Great Outdoors With Camping Equipment

On your first camping trip it is easy to get carried away – you go to the camping store and buy everything you see, then end up tired and achy having to carry far too much stuff around with you on your trip.

When you are planning a camping trip, make a list of the camping equipment you will need, and stick to it. Don't fall into the trap of taking too much with you – just take what you need, and enjoy the trip. As long as you have planned carefully then you will have all the essentials, and will not be overburdened.

All You Need

The three necessities that you should take with you are shelter, food and water. Any other camping equipment besides that is extra bulk. Of course, there are certain pieces of camping equipment that provide one of these three things. There are tents for shelter, there are knives and guns for the gathering of food, and there are strainers and water purifiers to help you obtain clean water. Those are intelligent camping equipment choices as they provide one of the necessities.

You can take some extra stuff with you to make the trip that little more comfortable – some good blankets, a stove to cook with so you do not need to cook on an open fire – some proper cutlery, etc.  The key thing is to think about what you want to pack, and decide if the benefit it will offer you outweighs the weight it will add to your pack.  If you will hardly use the item, don't take it.

Making A List

Make a list of items you will need before you go to the store – this way, you will be deterred from making impulse purchases.  If you know what you need, then you will not be tempted by everything you see – a list will save you money, and help you pack effectively for your trip.  You will enjoy your camping experience a lot more if you pack only what you need.
