Family Camping Vacations: Everyone's Favorite Summer Activity

Family camping vacations is a very popular summer activity. It is a great way to get out and enjoy the fresh air, and take a break from the hustle and bustle of day to day life.  Camp fires and outdoor barbecues are a wonderful way to spend the night, and food somehow tastes better cooked on an open flame.  Whether your version of family camping vacations involves tents, pop up campers, or an RV, one thing is certain – camping is a lot of fun.

Tips For Tent Camping

Make sure, if you go tent camping, that you pick out a tent that is big enough to accommodate everyone.  Modern tents often have rooms, so you can sleep in one room, and have another for storage and dining.  Some tents also have a screen porch to give you a little extra covered space.

The main problem with tent camping is that you are camping very close to the ground, even if there is a double layer protecting you from dampness, make sure that food is stored securely, to keep it clean, dry, and away from wild animals.

Tips For Pop Up Campers

Now family camping vacations are great when you have a pop up camper. They feature sinks, stoves, heaters, beds, cabinets and some even have outside showers. You will have a microwave, a kitchen table, seating, and a television if you want. The beds are soft and the comfort is just right. Many people live in these campers and travel all over the country, camping and meeting new friends along the way. The pop up camper is nice and easy to set up. The privacy flaps allow you to allow light in or keep the light out as well as people.

Tips For Truck Campers

Truck camping is quite comfortable – you can easily move around – just hop in the truck and drive to a new spot, and then you're ready to settle in for the night.  Truck camping is quick ad convenient – it is ideal for people who like to be spontaneous, and popular with hunters who like to be mobile too.

Whatever you decide, just remember to have fun, and respect the environment.  Only camp in areas where you have permission, and try to clean up before you leave – put out fires carefully, and make sure you don't leave any litter lying around.  Family camping vacations are a lot of fun, and it only takes a few minutes to  make sure you leave things as nature intended.
