One of the great family vacations is to jump in an RV and head
out on the road. You will need places to stay, so here is some
information on Mackinaw.
A family trip in an RV can be a great adventure. You can see the
entire United States while in your recreational vehicle, and
drive on historic roads and superhighways. Choosing a
destination is as easy as picking any spot on a map - because
you're bringing your home with you! However, there are some
spots that are better than others for parking your RV and
camping.
Mackinaw is a great area for family camping trips. Nearby Colonial
Michilimackinac, a village restored to its appearance in
colonial times, is a perfect spot for some historical
entertainment - but it's not the only historic area in this part
of Michigan. Also close by are the Old Mackinac Point
Lighthouse, the Historic Mill Creek, and Fort Mackinac, which
are all designated National Historic Sites. If you're looking
for a place to shop, the streets of Mackinaw City also provide
shoppers with many different stores to browse. Finally, if
you're looking for more of an adventurous time for the whole
family, the Thunder Falls Family Waterpark is sure to be fun for
all ages.
Mackinaw has plenty of spots for people RVing to stop and take
in the area. The Mackinac Island KOA (Kampgrounds of America) is
a great spot to park your RV. Open from May 1 through October 15
each year, this KOA facility offers shaded pull-throughs (with
50 amp service available) for RV's up to 60 feet. There is also
a swimming pool for campers' use, firewood (extra charge) and
tour service available. Prices start at just $29 per night.
Another Mackinaw City RV facility is Mackinaw Mill Creek
Camping. This location, which also includes spots for tents as
well as cabins for rent, has 200 hook ups available for your RV
needs. 20 and 30 amp electric hookups are on site, as well as
spots for "Big Rig" RVs. Situated on one mile of shoreline,
Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping also has Internet access, two
playgrounds, an arcade and a camp store.
Whether it's your first RV trip or a trip you take every year,
traveling the country on your RV will definitely make a vacation
for your whole family to remember. You can see the whole US from
the comfort of your own mobile home away from home. Mackinaw is
a great place to take your next RV vacation.

I would definitely want to get a cabin. I have added this to my list of places to visit. Sounds like it would be entertaining, and what better way to stay there then in a cabin. Many great memories come from staying in cabins. Gives that warm kind of feeling inside I suppose.
